Royal Tunbridge Wells Town Centre Plan – Have your say!

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is working with LDA Design to prepare a Town Centre Plan for Royal Tunbridge Wells.

On Wednesday 12 October between 11.30 – 13.30 there will be a pop-up consultation desk near the Clock Tower at Fiveways in the town centre. If you are able to take a break from work, please come along and give your views on the town centre and how we should be planning for the future.

If you are not able to attend this event there will be an opportunity to give your views online via our Talking Point platform and we will provide details of this on our website and via social media. So please also look out for this.

We are very keen to hear the views of local businesses.

Free Promotional Opportunity in Local Magazine
Our Communications team is preparing the winter edition of Local, the Council’s quarterly residents’ magazine that is distributed to all households in the borough (48,000+).

For the second year they’ve asked us to pass on this message to you with information about a great idea for the magazine, and one we hope you’ll see as supportive and be able to join in with…

Local goes into homes week commencing 29 November. The edition will include an Advent calendar of Christmas baubles throughout the magazine. Just as we did last year, we’d like each numbered Advent bauble to include a message from a local business, with the ‘treat’ being something for readers at Christmas. Last year businesses who joined in told readers about:
  • A late-night shopping event
  • Something already planned for Christmas
  • Mulled wine or mince pies when visitors arrive
  • Free gift with purchase offer
  • Special discount for readers of Local
There is no catch and no cost. We see this as a small way to support local businesses and benefit residents at the same time. If we have too many treats for the number of baubles we’ll pick them at random and put all the others on a special festive page on our website, with a link in the magazine and on social media.

What do you need to do?
Send an email to communications@tunbridgewells.gov.uk with information about the treat from your business by 11 October. Please keep it short and sweet so that we don’t have to edit your words too much.

Any questions? Just email communications and we’ll be happy to help. If you haven’t seen Local before you can read the latest and archived editions here:
