Staff Spotlight: Planning Department
Peter Erwin (pictured left) and Atticus Lanigan (pictured right) are two recent additions to our Planning Department. Learn more about each of our staff members below as well as some fun facts.
Peter Erwin manages several capital projects including the City’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects to enhance the downtown area, Pugsley Park, Monument Park, and Central Avenue. Before living and working in Peekskill, Peter worked in housing and real estate finance at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) and New York City Energy Efficiency Corporation (NYCEEC). Outside of work, he is a licensed New York City tour guide who enjoys rating pizzas and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains.
Atticus Lanigan is the liaison for the City to the Historic & Landmarks Preservation Board and the Artist Certification Committee. She is currently working with the Conservation Advisory Committee and MJ Engineering on a Natural Resources Inventory for the City of Peekskill. In addition, she oversaw the recent Fort Hill Park improvements and will be project manager for those planned for Riverfront Green Park. She is currently working on implementation strategies to improve parking resources in the City and has helped Peekskill draft legislation for the possible influx of cannabis related businesses. Outside of work, Atticus can be found running or riding in the streets of Beacon where she resides.

Community Feedback Survey
The City of Peekskill is currently applying for a grant to fund a Comprehensive Plan and we need your input! The comprehensive plan is the culmination of a planning process that establishes the official land use policy of a community and presents goals and a vision for the future that guides official decision making. The comprehensive plan invariably includes a thorough analysis of current data showing land development trends and issues, community resources, and public needs for transportation, recreation, and housing. To complete the survey, please click here.
