2. EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

The Georgia Capitol is calling! 
Spend this spring learning about agricultural policy in the state of Georgia! Interns will gain hands-on experience while receiving a $1,500 stipend! Learn more and apply online by October 15th!

The UGA Office of Global Engagement wants YOU to send your international travel pictures in!

3. SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS

Gilman Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide. Learn more here and apply by October 6th.

2022 Georgia Agribusiness Council Scholarship
The Georgia Agribusiness Council is proud to offer the 2022 "Sumpin' Big" Scholarship to three recipients the year. Graduating high school seniors through graduate level students majoring in agriculture related fields are eligible to apply. Applications must be postmarked by October 12th.

OGE General Scholarship
The OGE General Scholarship is open to students participating in a UGA Study Away Opportunity (i.e. a UGA Faculty Led program, UGA Exchange, or approved independent experience for UGA credit). Learn more here and apply by October 15th.

Experiential Learning Scholarship
Experiential Learning scholarships are open to undergraduate students, including transfer students, with at least one semester of UGA coursework who are pursuing experiential learning courses or non-credit activities aligned with the UGA Experiential Learning Requirement. Learn more here and apply by October 17th. 

2022 Ratcliffe Scholars Program
You could receive $5,000 to participate in one or more formative out-of-classroom experiences! The Ratcliffe Scholarship provides an opportunity to engage in immersive, hands-on learning experiences outside the confines of a traditional class setting. Apply By: November 1st

4. CAES CLUB & SOUTH CAMPUS CORNER

It's Beat Week! Help us beat Auburn on AND off the field!
UGA and Auburn are engaging in a competition of generosity! Last year, UGA beat Auburn by a score of 2,516 gifts to 2,247 gifts. From Oct. 3-8, you can help UGA beat Auburn for the third year in a row by making a donation of any size! We are asking all UGA CAES students to consider donating to the CAES "Student Emergency Fund" to help fellow students in times of need. 

Here's your chance - come get your resume reviewed TODAY!
Come see us this afternoon! The CAES Prepare for the Fair Resume Workshop is taking place today, Monday, October 3rd from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event will be drop-in style so you can stop by Conner Hall, Room 103 - just bring a copy of your resume! This resume review day is a great chance to prepare for the UGA Food, Agricultural, Environmental & Sciences Career and Internship Fair on October 18th!

Are you a transfer student? Don't miss this event!
The CAES Transfer Team is excited to host the 
Success for Transfer Students: A Workshop event TONIGHT at 5:30 p.m. in Conner Hall, Room 102! Come learn more about how to ease the transition into UGA for a smooth and successful semester!

Mock interviews, coming right up!
The CAES Prepare for the Fair: Mock Interviews session is on the horizon. Conduct an online mock interview with CAES alumni and UGA staff to support your career development on October 13th or October 14th. 1-hour interview slots are available from 9am to 2pm each day. Make sure to register for the event and sign up for a 60-minute slot in order to be fully registered for your Mock Interview. The registration deadline is Friday, October 7th.

UGA Poultry Science Club Meeting - this week!
Join the Poultry Science Club on Tuesday, October 4th to enjoy the RelAXE + Recharge Meeting at Lumberjaxe. The club will meet at the Poultry Science Building at 6:00 p.m., and then carpool to Lumberjaxe. Be sure to follow the club Instagram @ugapoulsci_club for updates!

Are you ready for the FAES Career & Internship Fair?
Come to the CAES Prepare for the Fair: Career Fair Prep 101 session! You'll learn some pro-tips and best practices to prepare for the Food, Agricultural, Environmental, and Sciences Career and Internship Fair! Join your CAES Career Consultant, Brionna Johnson, for the CAES Prepare for the Fair: Career Fair Prep 101 on Monday, October 10th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is a hybrid event so you can join us in Room 103 of Conner Hall or attend on Zoom. 5. BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Need a passport? Let us help you pay for it!
The Office of Global Engagement is happy to once again offer the Passport Initiative for a limited time! This application is open to all actively enrolled UGA
undergraduate students who are US citizens and have never received an adult US passport before (meaning this would either be their first passport ever, or their last passport was issued to them before the age of 16). This award will cover the cost of the passport up to $170.  Learn more here and please contact studyaway@uga.edu with any questions.


Intern with the NASDA
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA), headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking highly motivated students interested in the legislation and regulations that impact American agriculture. Applications for spring internships are due October 31, 2022. Learn more here!
2022 D.W. Brooks Lecture
Mark your calendar for the D.W. Brooks Lecture and Awards on Tuesday, November 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Mahler Hall at the Georgia Center! This year's featured speaker is Dr. Alison Van Eenennaam with a presentation titled "Science Friction: Can Effective Communication Save Genome Editing from the Fate of GMOs?"  Learn more here.

This week's Pic of the Week comes from "Intros and Appetizers" hosted by the UGA CAES Alumni Association. Students had the opportunity to practice their networking skills in several 15-minute "speed interview" rounds and got to end the evening with some wonderful appetizers and hors d'oeuvres.
