  • How Dr. Willis, Marin County's Health Officer, helped get Marin to a 91% vaccination rate (the nationwide rate is 68%).
  • John Treanor, a spokesperson for AAA, said gas prices are on the rise in California and much of the Western market in Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona, in part because of oil refinery maintenance. (MarinIJ)
  • Pretty quiet weather will continue along the U.S. West Coast for the first half of October. It will be substantially warmer than average nearly everywhere, although no extreme heatwaves are on the horizon. (Daniel Swain)

Monday

  • The Rollin’ Root produce truck sells farmers’ market produce on Mondays at the following locations in West Marin: Main Street and Dillon Beach Road in Tomales from 9 to 10 a.m., The Marshall Store from 11 a.m. to noon and Walnut Place in Point Reyes Station from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
  • Free Covid-19 rapid take-home tests are available for pickup for people who live or work in West Marin from 11 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Fridays at West Marin Community Services.
Tuesday
  • The North Marin Water District board meets virtually at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. Visit www.nmwd.com/meetings for the agenda and link.
  • The West Marin Lions Club meets virtually from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. Email angelosacheli51@gmail.com for the Zoom link.
Wednesday
  • The Tomales Town Hall board meets from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. Email mail@tomalestownhall.org if you are considering attending.
Thursday
  • The Nicasio School board meets at 5 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month in the library.

Saturday
  • The Point Reyes Farmers Market takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Toby’s Feed Barn. The Dwayne Oakley Blues Ensemble plays music on the outdoor stage at 9:30 a.m. 
  • An E.V. Expo takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Second Street in Point Reyes Station, next to the Old Western Saloon. Electric cars, trucks, tractors, bikes and tools will be on display. Sponsored by West Marin Climate Action and Ride & Drive Clean.
