Church News and Notes
Adult Forums are held in Quist Hall after coffee time, approximately 11am.

October 9 -  “Do It Yourself Creation” Bible study based on the Creation story from Genesis Chapters One-Two-Three. On October 9 we'll study Genesis Chapter 2. This chapter focuses on God creating Adam and Eve and providing a paradise in the Garden of Eden for them to live with Him.

October 16 -  “Do It Yourself Creation” Bible study based on the Creation story from Genesis Chapters One-Two-Three. On October 16 the series concludes with Genesis Chapter 3. God’s plan for paradise collapses in shame and sin and Adam and Eve disobey God’s command.

October 23 – Presentation on the Senior Housing Project progress with Hosts Ryan McKinley - President, and Marty Fuller - Construction Superintendant of McKinley Construction. Plans include a walking tour of the project.

October 30 – Ministry Fair
Learn more about the different ministries and volunteer opportunities at Mt. Carmel.

The Adult Education Team is recruiting congregation members interested in helping plan the Adult Forum topics for the year. If you are interested,  please contact Bob Grosse, Adult Ed Team leader.
Come out in costume for our second annual Trunk-or-Treat event!

Bring your car, bring some candy, wear your favorite costume, and enjoy the trick-or-treaters. We line our cars up in the parking lot and hand out candy to the kids who come by for a safe and sane halloween experience.

Help us stay organized by signing up in the narthex if you plan to join us for this fun event.
Come to the Ministry Fair in Quist Hall after church on October 30. You'll have an opportunity to learn about the ministry teams, committees, and service ministries at Mt. Carmel.
EXCITING NEWS!!!
The Women’s Retreat is back for 2022

Our speaker is Rev. Dr. Marjorie Funk-Pihl
Hopeful Frustration
We are in a moment
We are emotionally worn out and willing to admit it

Join us as we discover how to use our frustration to restore our hope
Pastor Marj is a former pastor at Mt. Carmel and has lead Retreats for us in the past. Those of you who have heard her speak, know that this is an event not to be missed!

Cost for the weekend, which includes lodging and 6 meals, is $275. We would appreciate  a $125 deposit to hold your place when you sign up.

Registration will begin after church, this Sunday, Sept. 25. Do you have a friend/ family member who might like to attend? Would they enjoy fellowship, spiritual enrichment, food and fun? We would love to have them join us!
At the June 2022 Annual Meeting, our congregation approved a commitment to raise $40,000 in addition to the proposed budget to complete necessary repairs and improvements to our roofing, landscape, and drainage issues. “Cover The Roof” has been adopted as the fundraiser slogan and is ready to begin.

To contribute by check, make a note of “Facility Repairs” on the memo line. If you make your contributions by credit card or by E-checks let the Financial Secretary, Carol Grosse,
cgrosse@charter.net know that your donation is for the fund raising project.
