A Note from Gary Buckley
October is traditionally celebrated as Pastor Appreciation month. The role of the Pastor is vital to our ongoing individual faith journeys as well as our congregation itself.

Pastor Sonja works incredibly hard at leading our congregation as well as Attending to many other roles she plays in the District Conference. n top of that, she is involved in many opportunities to deepen her leadership skills as well as strengthen her faith. Some of us work fairly closely with her and, though we she her work constantly, we do not see the time she spends in many other activities.

And,  though it is Pastor Appreciation month, we probably should not forget the pastoral family which, of course, includes Mike. Mike has been a key part of our working through the pandemic years and is a constant support to Sonja and the church itself.

As a means of expressing your appreciation, we invite you to drop a card or a note of appreciation in baskets to be placed in the sanctuary at the start of October through the end of the month. You may want to consider including a gift card or gift of some sort as well.

Hey everybody !

We have begun our Midweek programming on Wednesday evenings  with a meal at 5:30. This week we will be having tailgate foods. Bring your favorite dish for tailgating and join us for a meal.

Children's Choir is during Midweek at 6:00 pm, right after we eat. We'll practice for 15 minutes or so to learn some songs for Christmas time. We will be studying our Methodist heritage, so we will have a lesson John Wesley, the Methodist Church founder. We will learn about what is a circuit rider?

Have you heard the story about the Thankful Leper? There were ten people who were outcast because they were very sick. Jesus healed all ten. One came back to say "Thank you" to Him. We will talk about it in Sunday School.

In Children's Church we will continue our Words of Life study. This is where we will take a look at Jesus and the promise of the Ten Commandments today. This week our subject will be respecting God's name. In Exodus 20:7, the bible tells us " Do not use the Lord your God's name as if it were of no significance." Let's discuss what that means.

Check back next week to find out what's coming up next!

All Staff Trained by Ministry Safe
Our vision is to strengthen families in faith.  We have put in a lot of work to make the Children's Ministry area safe and welcoming.  We have hired staff that we believe to be capable, and we have trained them on our Safe Sanctuaries policies adopted by the church for those who work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.  We have also required them to go through Sexual Abuse Awareness Training through Ministry Safe.  For more information about Ministry safe go to https://ministrysafe.com/LearnMore/
