Office Hours - Next Week
Dear Members,
Club Administration Manager Jess Hampton will be on leave for the week commencing 10 October, and while the office will be open from Monday to Thursday (9am-12pm) of that week, we will be unable to process new memberships or manage membership/online shop enquiries during that time.
It would be appreciated that any enquiries of that nature are made prior to Jess going on leave, or via email during that week: admin@sorrentoslsc.org.au
Jess will come in and process/ respond to enquiries on Saturday 15th October (11:30am – 3pm) and Sunday 16th October (7am – 9:30am). She will also be available at these times for any member enquiries that need to be dealt with in person.
The uniform shop will be open on Wednesday (5pm – 6pm) and on Sunday (7.30am – 9am).

Lifesaving
Welcome and well done to our new SRC Patrolling Members. You should be proud of your efforts to successfully complete your SRC and Bronze.
Many thanks to all who supported the course: Jeff, Tim, Matt, Craig, Jeremy, Lisa, Christine, Colleen, Adam and Rhonda; Our Youth helpers: Bridget, Sophie, Georgie, Keely and Austin; Trainers and Assessors: Janie, Neil, Ian, Julie and Christine. And, all of the above ably supported by Jess and Garry.
We can't wait to see you on the beach soon!

Requals
If you have your Bronze or SRC, we are doing requals every Saturday and Sunday in November.
You only have to come to one full session (Saturday or Sunday)
Requal should take around 2 hours.

Education Courses
Advanced Resuscitation HLTAID015 course
It is not a re-qual. Anyone who has the ARTC Award or has not requalified their ART(AID) in the last two years would benefit doing this course. Anyone wanting their Pain Management Award requires a current First aid AND Advanced Resuscitation Award
Date: Late October (weekend)
Course duration: 6 hours
Pre-requisite: Current First Aid certificate – HLTAID011 or equivalent SLSWA Award First Aid(AID)
Cost: Free to members

NRC (Water Safety Certificate)
This course is designed to enable a large range of parents/guardians to be engaged by Clubs to formally assist in improving the delivery of Nipper water based activities and create potential pathways to lifesaving operations such as beach patrols or carnival water safety.
Date - October 15th 2022 at 7:30am
Where - Meet at Sorrento SLSC Grass area at 7:30am
Requirements - Must be able to swim 200m in under 6 minutes.

Come along to the competition sundowner after training on Friday 14th of October. Eat, drink and socialise with your teammates, hear from the coaches and ask any questions about the season ahead. All athletes (U14 and above) and parents are welcome.

Congratulations to our NEW Youth Bronzies and SRC’s!! We are extremely proud what you achieved this week.
New Bronzies: Nate, Romy, Harriet, Lani, Bronte, Zahra, Niamh, Will, Jett, Austin – huge thank you to Lisa Thomson (and the trainers/assessors) for running this course
New SRCs: Chaise, Dylan, Jaydn, Shay, Robbie, Jake, Taige, Lucas, Lara, Tess, Ella, Harper, Harry, Lili M, Maggie, Brandon, Indi, Ayla, Lily R, Ethan, Erin, McKinley, Lilli Y – huge thank you to our trainers Jeff, Tim, Matt, Adam, Rhonda, Craig, Jeremy and especially our older youth that gave up their time during school holidays to train the group and ensure all 23 passed the course: Bridget, Sophie, Georgie, Keely & Austin. And importantly a massive thank you to Ian, Julie, Christine, Janie and Neil for running the Mock Assessment and Final Assessments for the group.
