MIT faculty participate in Mexico City's Mextrópoli Architecture and City Festival


A participatory architectural installation — entitled "Sueños con Fiber/Timber, Earth/Concrete" — unfolds stories about Mexico City through four materials: paper, wood, earth, and concrete. A review in Archinect says the work "is leveraging the school’s recent innovations in materials research to weave a narrative about the centuries-old capital." 

Cell Rover: Exploring and augmenting the inner world of the cell

 
Researchers at the MIT Media Lab demonstrate an intracellular antenna that's compatible with 3D biological systems and can operate wirelessly inside a living cell. A paper describing the research was published in the journal Nature Communications.

Flu shots available on campus
 
To help protect against the flu, MIT Medical strongly recommends everyone get the flu shot. Active flu strains are different each year, so even if you got a flu shot last year, you still need to get this year's vaccine. All students are required to get a flu shot. MIT Medical is holding flu clinics all this week — October 3–7, 8:00 am–4:00 pm — in Walker Memorial. The clinics are free to all MIT ID holders, campus residents, and patients with MIT Medical. More information here.
