Marty's Message
When asked if I like my job, I am quick to say, “Yes, I love it!” and quick to add that I pinch myself as a reminder of how lucky I am. I spend each day with thoughtful faculty, staff and students who are not only interesting, hardworking, curious and passionate, but also courageous.
In this week's Monday Message you can read about the courage of our students as cadets preparing for military service; Good Samaritans assisting with the rescue of a capsized boat; and an alumna using skills learned while a UWSP student to revive a child who had collapsed at a high school dance.
Incredible stuff. I need to pinch myself again.

Athletic training alumna Nicole Collins '18 was chaperoning a high school dance where she is an athletic trainer when a student collapsed on the gym floor. Collins, trained in CPR, started compressions. “I was more focused on her, trying to do what I’ve been trained to do. You see a kid in an emergency. I was locked in to do what needed to be done.” After two rounds of CPR, the student once again started to breathe. Watch the full story on WGN TV.
