Beginning at 9am and lasting throughout the day, you'll hear interviews with people who knew Michael, as well as music that he loved.

Giuseppe Verdi's Aida performed by the Los Angeles Opera. It would be difficult to assemble a better cast for Verdi‘s Aida than LA Opera’s recent production conducted by James Conlon. Latonia Moore (Billie in Lyric Opera’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones) made her LA Opera as the Ethiopian princess. She is paired with the leading Verdi tenor Russell Thomas (currently starring in Lyric’s Ernani) as Radamès. 
Tango with Cally

This week: Milonga!
One can dance a milonga at a milonga! The term represents not just a musical style, but also a tango dance party. Host Cally Banham delves into the word's origin and plays some examples of this energetic music from Francisco Canaro, Juan D’Arienzo, and others.

Join host Tom Sudholt for a live St. Louis Symphony Orchestra broadcast! For his SLSO debut, conductor Thomas Søndergård (pictured) leads a program filled with heartfelt expression and vivid imagery. Liadov’s The Enchanted Lake is idyllic and mystical, Sergei Prokofiev’s Seventh Symphony wavers between joy and despair. Pianist Stephen Hough brings Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto to thundering life.
The Slatkin Shuffle

Join Leonard Slatkin, Conductor Laureate of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, as he shares anecdotes about the eclectic collection of music in his playlist in this program, which is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
