Of course, one of the most significant announcements to come out of Hong Kong is the opening of the borders. With travel slowly returning to pre-pandemic levels, there is a lot to look forward to during the upcoming holiday season. This is also true for the domestic helpers in Hong Kong who will be returning home to meet with their family members for the first time in years. Here is a helpful guide of suggestions to keep in mind while arranging for their trips back home.

For all those domestic helpers staying home, Hong Kong does provide multiple resources to upskill. Here is a list of classes for domestic helpers in Hong Kong, ranging from economic empowerment to swimming and yoga.
Notice: Minimum Wage Increase

The government has announced the following changes to the minimum wage for Migrant Domestic Workers
  • The minimum monthly wage will be increased by 2.2% from $4,630 to $4,730 per month
  • The food allowance will be increased by $23 from not less than $1,173 to not less than $1,196 per month
These changes will apply to all domestic helper contracts signed on or after October 1, 2022
