HMGS-Midwest and Naval Wars updates

Greetings my fellow gamers,

Wow, this has been a very busy, last several weeks for the HMGS Board and our GM's.  We started at the end of August with Nashcon, then Lockport's World War II Days, The Chicago Toy Soldier Show, Autumn Wars, Noble Knight's Game Day, Gamehole Con, Dragonfall, and The Military Modeling Show of Illinois.   A heartfelt thank you, to all of those who helped make these events a success.

If you missed any of these, do not worry, upcoming is Rockcon (Nov. 4-6), Naval Wars (Nov. 19), and Toys 4 Tots (Nov. 23, 26, Dec. 3). 

We have a great line up for Naval Wars (see below), and we will be hosting at Ethereal Chocolates once again.  Hope to see you there.

In keeping with the Naval Wars theme, the top picture is a previous (July, 2016) HMGS-Midwest, night at Games Plus.  Craig Borri has been doing a great job running this for us, every 2nd Friday of the month, at Games Plus in Mt. Prospect, IL.  The store honors A 10% discount for members.   Contact Craig if you are interested in getting on the mailing list.

Naval Wars
Woodstock, IL
Saturday, November 19th

We are two weeks away from our a new event, free to HMGS members, ($10 non-members). A one day naval themed gaming event hosted in an idyllic setting, in Woodstock, IL.  Come and play the games, participate on the forum and enjoy (or take home) gourmet coffees and chocolate.  Event sign up will be on site.  If you are not a member you can join at the door, or visit our Chedder-up site.

Plans are underway to have a social event with possibly Pizzas brought in and a trip to the Speakeasy downstairs or possibly going offsite for dinner.  We will keep you posted as details develop.

Come join HMGS-Midwest and Games Plus in supporting Battlefront’s “Toys for Tots”

This year we are proud to announce 2 days of gaming for a charitable cause. We will be kicking off the event on Wednesday, November 23rd and running again on Saturday November 26th.  Hosted at Games Plus in Mt, Prospect IL. 

We will be running a a variety of mega-FOW games, based on a few different options.  Bring your own army or use a loaner.

The fee to play will be one toy (unwrapped) around $15.  Players can game in any or all sessions in they bring a toy for each.  Prizes will be randomly awarded by Battlefront, on a national scale.

If you cannot be at Games Plus, you can still join us at Grognards.  Better yet, come to both.
 We will be kicking off the event on  on Saturday December, 3rd.  Scheduled to start at noon are a Team Yankee Tournament and a WWII Mega-FOW game, hosted at Grognards in Roselle, IL.
