Dear Faith Family,
My heart was touched Sunday morning as we gathered around our young families and prayed over each of them affirming their commitment to raise their children to know and love the Lord.  To me it was a visual of the African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child,” but even more so Moses’s words of instruction to the people of Israel in Deuteronomy 6.  Research tells us that every child needs at least five healthy adults speaking into his or her life to thrive and develop strong relationships with others and with God.  If you do the math (I promise this equation is simple), that’s three adults in addition to mom and dad.  I know this was true in my life growing up; I’m so thankful for those adults that poured into my life and pointed me to Jesus.  I see this playing out in my own kids’ lives as well, and I’m grateful for those who intentionally press into each of their lives.  The truth is we all need each other.  Wise Solomon wrote about this in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, and we see models of this all throughout scripture.  It may be an encouraging word, intentionally praying for someone, or setting aside time to meet together.  The body of Christ is stronger when we work together, and life truly is better together!
“Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Blessings,
Michelle Schlappe

We've got two great opportunities to shine the light of Christ on Halloween.

1 - NIGHT OF THE LIGHTS - MONDAY, OCTOBER 31

Halloween is typically a night that caters to darkness and scary costumes.  But, what if we, as followers of Christ, turned it into a night of light and a chance to meet our neighbors?  There are very few nights in the year when our neighbors will be as visible and willing to engage as October 31! So, let’s leverage the opportunity and intentionally seek ways to build a relationship with those around us!  Here is a list of Host Homes for Night of the Lights!  Feel free to join us at one of the following locations:

Tim & Michelle Moore - 8747 Wren, Waco 76712
Doug & Elizabeth Rogers - 241 W Chapman Rd, Hewitt 76643
Mike & Linda Erlanson - 512 Aspen Incline Dr, Hewitt 76643
Justin & Kristeen Williams - 112 Texas Ave, Hewitt 76643
Peter & Mina Park - 6701 Mundo Dr, Waco 76712
Darrell & Sharron Vickers - 524 Stone Canyon Dr., McGregor 76657

IMPACT WEEKEND - January 13-15

It’s that time again for one of our students’ favorite events, IMPACT Weekend. This year’s theme is TOGETHER. In our culture today, there is more division than there is unity. In all the division, the Gospel speak a profound truth: In Christ, we are united. We are together. We want to teach the students to embrace a Christ-Centered Community. We will be partnering with a few other churches in the area to encourage unity and togetherness in Christ. Those churches are Brazos Meadows BC, FBC China Springs, and Columbus Avenue BC.
