The SNAP FALL 2022 E-News

RECORD breaking Spays and Neuters

SNIP. VAX. RELAX.

September and October were record-breaking months in the spay/neuter department.  We sterilized over 1,600 dogs, cats, and rabbits. with both Neuter Scooters working in tandem almost daily throughout San Diego County.   We also administered over 800 DAPPv vaccines for dogs and HCP vaccines for cats, through public facing immunization clinics during the 2 months.  The lifesaving serums are provided free of charge by Petco Love, to reach their goal of preventing the transmission of life-threatening diseases to 2,000,000 disadvantaged pets in underserved communities across the Nation.  We have received over 7,000 doses since the program was implemented in August of last year. To date, SNAP has spayed and neutered 6,687 pets and vaccinated over 7,400 pets in 2022, preventing hundreds of thousands unnecessary litters and transmissible diseases.

$5.00 per entry. All entry fees go toward our goal to sponsor a FREE spay/neuter day for pets needing spay or neuter.

FUNDRAISER EXPANDS THE SNAP BRAND

Our First Annual “Pickleball for the Pets” fundraising event held at Bobby Riggs Racket & Paddle in Encinitas was a complete success!  On October 8, players of all levels gathered to compete in the round robin and be cheered on by the party guests.  There were food vendors, a DJ, raffles, and a silent auction with some very desirable merchandise, including an elegant picnic for two from Picnic Pop Up Co and product and gift certificate from Hansen Surfboards.  Local companies gave big to further our cause.  Best of all, we met our $20,000 fundraising goal, plus a “Pickleball for the Pets” clinic sponsorship in honor of the Healing Arts Foundation and the founder’s enthusiasm for SNAP.

Fun Fact:  Plans are on the table for the second annual “signature” event

END OF YEAR GIVING

Many donors hold the last month of the year to give to their favorite charities.  We hope that we are, and continue to be, a favorite charity whose sole purpose is to reduce the needless birth of unwanted litters and tragic endings that are a sad reality.  Please consider making your end of year donation to SNAP.
Thank you from the pets in our service range who are in desperate need of medical care.
