The 87th Annual Purdue Pest Management Conference
We are excited to bring you on site and virtual options for the 2023 conference. This January, we are looking forward to seeing everyone on campus for the traditional 3-day event. Presentations will begin at 8am on Monday morning in the Purdue Memorial Union North Ballroom, with a session on truck safety including how to respond to spills and emergencies with Fred Whitford of Purdue Pesticide Programs.
We will kick off the onsite programming with Opening Ceremonies at 10:30am with Carrie Campbell, the Purdue Pest Management Conference Planning Committee Industry Chair and Mark VanderWerp from Rose Pest with his annual Year in Review. Following the Opening, Coby Schal of North Carolina State University will present the keynote presentation titled: "Pest Management and Pest Eradication" covering rebranding PMPS as public health professionals. Programming will continue in the afternoon, concluding with Bobby Corrigan's presentation, "Assessing Rodents vs. Inspecting for Rodents."
The Exhibit Hall Opening Reception will take place at 4:30 - 7pm in the South Ballroom of the Purdue Memorial Union. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cash bar will be available to all conference attendees.
Tuesday morning, a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast will be offered in room 206 of Stewart Center. Programming on Tuesday will include bats, regulatory updates, and sessions on wood destroying organisms and fumigation. Complimentary boxed lunches will be served in the Exhibit Hall which will be open from 10:30am - 2:00pm.
Wednesday will feature session on electronic pest monitoring, food plant topics, bed bugs, cockroaches and backpack spreayers. Closing Ceremonies will take place at 3:45pm; attendance anniversaries will be announced at this time.

Coby Schal of North Carolina State University will present the keynote presentation on January 9, 2023 at 11:00am. Coby's talk is titled: Pest Management and Pest Eradication and will focus on rebranding PMPs as public health professionals.

Indiana Pest Management Association presents: Business Workshop
 IPMA will sponsor a three-day, four-hour workshop. Each morning of the conference at 8am, a different topic will be presented in Room 202 of Stewart Center. Monday, Angela Persinger of Rose Pest will present the topic - Retention, Recruitment and Diversity; Tuesday, IPMA's own Jen Jackson of Jackson Pest out of Leo, Indiana will present the topic - Money Matters; and Wednesday, Cassie Krejci of Rentokil Terminix will present the topic - Pest Control by the Numbers: KPIs for Technical Support Teams. The Wednesday presentation will be followed by a 1-hour discussion group session. Pre-registration is required. Refreshments and breakfast pastries will be provided. Cost of registration is $100.

Lab Tours are Back
Back by popular demand, walking tours of the Urban Labs in historic Smith Hall will be conducted on Tuesday evening. Sign up for a guided tour of the Buczkowsi Ant Lab, the Gondhalekar Bed Bug Lab, and the Pittendrigh Molecular Lab. A sign up sheet will be available in Room 204 of Stewart Center and in the Exhibit Hall at the Urban Student booth. Be sure to bring a coat! Two approximately one-hour tours will run in the evening at 4:25 and 5:40pm.

Virtual Program
The Purdue Pest Management Virtual Conference will officially begin on January 10, 2023 at 8am. Presentations will be available for viewing beginning at the times listed in the program. Most states allow for On Demand viewing to obtain CCH/CEU credits. This means you can watch the presentations at your convenience through 5pm on Friday, January 20. Please be aware that there are several states which require a live component in order to grant credit. Check the state credits map to see what your state requires. For a small quantity of states, attendees are required to view the presentation at the time it launches on the virtual platform (according to the program). Each presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session with the speaker. Attendees must complete the attendance survey for each presentation within one hour of its conclusion to receive credits for these states.

Conference Dedication to
Gene White
The 2023 Conference is dedicated to Gene White. Gene had over 30 years of attendance at the Purdue Conference, beginning when he was a student in the Urban Center working the conference as a page through the years until he became one of our top speakers. Gene passed away suddenly in September. The dedication will be presented during opening ceremonies on Monday.

Viewing Room
For conference attendees who do not have access to adequate technology to participate in the virtual content offered online, we have arranged for a viewing room in Room 218 of Stewart Center to show the 4 virtual-only presentations on the program. Note - this is reserved for those who cannot view the presentations online. Monday, from 12:10-1:10pm, Barry Pittendrigh (Purdue)'s Resistance Management presentation will be shown. Tuesday, beginning at 11:45am two presentations will be shown - Mark "Shep" Sheperdigian (Rose Pest)'s Invasive Species and Ameya Gondhalekar (Purdue)'s Essential Oils in Structural Pest Management will follow. Wednesday, at 12:40pm, Stan Cope of AP&G (Catchmaster)'s presentation on Ticks will be playing in the viewing room. As these presentations will run during the lunch hour, we have arranged for classroom style seating and we encourage you to bring a lunch. Complimentary boxed lunches will be provided on Tuesday, visit the Purdue Memorial Union's Atlas Family Marketplace on the Ground Floor on Monday and Wednesday.
Seating is limited and restricted to those who cannot access virtual content.
