10 MYTHS ABOUT MARKETING THAT ARE HOLDING BACK YOUR BRAND

The New Year of LIMA webinars is kicking off next Wednesday, January 11 with "10 Myths About Youth Marketing That Are Holding Back Your Brand." This session is presented by Bill Carter, Partner in Fuse, one of the leading teen and young adult youth culture marketing services firms. Carter will offer evidence and analysis about how – from the so-called death of print advertising to the propagation of text messaging – brands that follow media reports and common "knowledge" are missing out on opportunities to reach teens and young adults and hurting their brand.

The webinar will be held from 12:00-1:30pm EST. As always, LIMA webinars are free for all members, $99 per site for non-members.

DEADLINE FOR HALL OF FAME RECOMMENDATIONS FAST APPROACHING!

LIMA is seeking recommendations for our next Hall of Fame inductee, to be honored at Licensing Expo 2012 in Las Vegas. The deadline for recommending candidates is next Friday, January 13, 2012.

Since 1989, LIMA has recognized individuals who have made a unique and significant contribution to the Licensing Industry with the LIMA Licensing Industry Hall of Fame Award. It is open to creators, marketers, manufacturers, and any others that have made a continual and outstanding contribution to the licensing industry. Individuals that are or have been active in the licensing industry and meet the criteria are eligible for this award.

We ask that LIMA members please join us in identifying individuals who deserve to be considered. Click here to review the Hall of Fame Criteria and submit your online recommendation.

JAPAN PAVILION AT
HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL LICENSING SHOW

As part of the Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s drive for “Overseas Development Promotional Strategy for Content,” the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry – in conjunction with Japanese licensing agents – will jointly host the Japan Pavilion at the LIMA-sponsored Hong Kong International Licensing Show, January 9-11, 2012.

Supported by LIMA Japan, the Japan Pavilion will also feature 10 specially selected properties from a group of 100 creations that were originally shown at Japan’s largest contents business show, Creative Market Tokyo 2011 held in October 2011. The character and content properties, specifically chosen for their suitability for international markets, will be introduced at the show and representatives will be available to discuss commercialization opportunities.
