Kia ora nga tangata ataahua
This week the deputy principals and I have been working the road patrol before school starts each day. The reason being, some of our students are dropped off by the bus across the road and the disruption the closure of Gorge Road has made. We are trying to manage the extra volume of heavy traffic and are working closely with QLDC to keep our whanau and tamariki safe. Please try to follow these guidelines. We appreciate your support.
-
You can continue to access the Boundary Road carpark.
-
Right hand turns into and out of PUDO will be discouraged as this causes traffic to build up in our PUDO.
-
Gorge Road will be closed between Weaver and Turner Streets.
-
You can use the Hamilton Road entrance to park on our bottom field from 8.15 - 9am and 2.50pm till 3.30pm.
-
The Deputy Principals and myself will patrol the QPS crossing between 8.30-9am daily and the afternoon routine will continue.
-
Try to use the school buses as much as possible.
-
Walk to school if you live close by to QPS.
Our mission is to cause the least disruption to arrival and departures. WTPA have suggested that it would be a good idea for parents who are driving their children to school to leave earlier.
Today we said our goodbyes to Karl who was our caretaker at QPS for 3 years. Our tamariki presented him with lovely messages on cards and the kapa haka sang to him very moving waiata. We welcome Jamie Turner to replace Karl. Jamie has 3 tamariki at QPS and was able to watch our assembly today. One of the perks of the job.
Kia ora to our parents who attended our Maori hui yesterday. We had ka pai korero and I am excited about the future of these hui in an effort to help Maori learn as Maori.
