DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS
ON THE INCREASE

It has been a busy month for Council’s planning division with our staff working diligently to progress and assess development applications.

Throughout October, there were 28 development applications, and two complying development certificates (CDC) completed through Council’s planning division.

Not only are our planning staff getting through a number of applications, we are seeing a pickup in the submission of development applications, which is an encouraging sign of economic growth within the shire.

PEDALFEST THIS WEEKEND!

This weekend’s weather forecast is welcome news for many across the shire, none more-so than Dungog’s pedal enthusiasts – Pedalfest is back on!

After the event was postponed due to rain earlier this month, it’s nothing but blue skies forecast for the two-wheelers.

Following the same format the event kicks off with a twilight ride for the kiddies from Dungog Public School tonight, and Saturday events cater for beginner and advanced riders and includes the popular Pedalfest classic Dungog Criterium – a madcap race around Dungog streets. The Chichester Sportlife is held on the Sunday.

Check out Pedalfest’s website for more details and get on your bike! www.pedalfest.org.au

There will be several road closures in place during Pedalfest. Please visit our website for more information

DUNGOG SHOW
NOVEMBER 11 & 12

Dungog Show has been a staple for 100 years. Recently uncovered were some images from the archives – this one pictured is from the 1987 Dungog Show Grand Parade. Not much has changed in the last 35 years including the scheduling of the Grand Parade. It is always a popular feature of the Show, this year it will be held Saturday at 2pm.

The show kicks off Friday with the camp draft, school visit and junior judging, then a huge day on Saturday is planned with cattle judging, wood splitting, best-dressed pet and more before an afternoon of racing – dachshunds, pigs, camels- plus heart racing demolition derby, motor cross display and a dog high jumping competition.  So much to see!

Check out the Dungog Show website for more information.
