ULRIKE KLEIN AO RECEIVES ARTS VISIONARY AWARD
It is with immense pride that we announce the latest recipient of the Creative Partnerships Australia Arts Visionary Award, our own Founder, Ulrike Klein AO. Ulrike joins just four other recipients of this award: S Baillieu Myer AC and Sarah Myer, Lady Potter AC, and John Kaldor AO.
This high honour is not awarded regularly, and requires special nomination from the Board of Creative Partnerships Australia: For an individual, family, group or foundation who has made a significant contribution to the arts over a period of time, leading to a new understanding of the arts in Australia and enabling the presentation of art that would not have been possible without philanthropic support.
Ulrike’s generosity has created opportunities for so many artists, and this latest award testifies to her vision, and its extraordinary blossoming.
Ulrike reiterated the animating ideas behind UKARIA during her acceptance speech:
'My vision – my daring dream for UKARIA is to have art and musicians at the heart of all we do. They touch the core of what it means to be human, they speak to our heart. They are part of a forgotten time, a lineage where musicians have been leaders of society. We are making our decisions qualitative not quantitative, our investment is to give musicians the freedom to bring art to life – UKARIA’s vision is to be a place in service to art and music, and to creativity.'
