WaterTalks bring some of the most innovative thinkers to Waterloo to discuss leading issues in water research. Join the Water Institute on Thursday, October 20th in DC 1302 from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm to attend the session with Prof. William A. Are you a student doing research in a cold region? Then you should submit an abstract for the 2022 Cold Region Conference, hosted by the Cold Regions Research Centre (CRRC) and Wilfred Laurier University!  This year, it is a FREE hybrid conference geared towards students and early career researchers in a friendly and supportive environment. There are slots available for 12-minute and shorter "lightning talk" styles, with prizes awarded for top presentations.

Compete in GRADflix 2023 to share your research with the University of Waterloo community!










 
GRADflix is a research communication initiative for graduate students. Describe your research using a video, moving slide show, or animation of no longer than 60 seconds. If you’ve never made a video before, attend our training session on October 27 to find out how easy it is to make a short video!
 
Selected entries will be chosen by a judging panel to be shown at a virtual showcase event in January, where finalists will have the chance to win one of five cash prizes ranging in value from $250 to $750.

Join the EGSA on October 22 for a night of drinks, dancing, and donations, as envisioned by the dark minds of the Brothers Grimm (open to everyone)!

The first Charity Ball in over two years will be in support of Reep Green Solutions to work towards fostering a sustainable, low-carbon community. The evening will include a silent auction, live DJ, cash bar, and dancing, and guests are encouraged to dress in costume or as if they were living in a world written by the Brothers Grimm.

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is offering over $200,000 of scholarship funding for water students!
