HAPPY NOVEMBER 1ST!

It's November: days are getting shorter, end of semester (including exams!) is getting closer. What does November mean to you? It's Native American Heritage Month. It's Election Day. Thanksgiving is coming, a time for family and gratitude. And some people go ahead and put up their holiday decorations on November 1.... according to Home Depot it's been Christmas for three weeks already!

Whatever November means to you, we hope you have a happy one. Keep us in mind as you start planning holiday gifts for friends and family, we've got something for everyone on your list.

NOVEMBER VAHIREADS BOOK CLUB MEETINGS

Our VaHiReads Book Club will have two meetings next month; cho0se the most convenient for you. The book for this meeting is Mercury Pictures Presents by Anthony Marra. Please reply to attend (attendance is limited):

CELEBRATE NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
National Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each year in November. It is a time to celebrate the traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Island communities and ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation.

We have loads of books, for both adults and children, about Native American history, as well as books by Native American authors. Come explore our selection in the store.

EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!

The American right to vote is governed by the United States Constitution, including various federal and state laws. Constitutional amendments 15, 19 and 26 ensure that the voting rights of U.S. citizens cannot be denied or abridged on account of race, color, sex, or age (18 and older). It's a right, and it's a privilege, for Americans to vote for and elect their leaders.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8. Georgia has several BIG races this election season, in case you haven't heard; you can and should head to the polls to make your voice heard. Early voting has begun, and will remain open until  November 4. There are a number of early voting locations in Fulton County; you can access the list of locations, as well as the hours each are open,
here.

DON'T FORGET TO FALL BACK ON NOVEMBER 6

Some people love it, some people hate it. Regardless of your opinion on Daylight Savings Time, it's ending this month. Remember to turn your clocks back before you go to bed on Saturday November 5, because DST ends on Sunday November 6.
