Dear Holy Cross Families,

October is proving to be a month full of plenty of activity! Tomorrow is our annual All School Mass officiated by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades at the Notre Dame Purcell Pavilion.  All 3rd through 8th graders will attend.

Last week our 4th grade immersion class participated in the National Catholic School Spanish Spelling Bee and took 3rd place! Watch this short video for details.  Congratulations 4th grade! 

On Monday, many parents came to help make headbands for our students to wear during our public concert for Día de Los Muertos on Sunday, October 30th. Thank you, parents, for all of your help and thank you to Sra. Roach for organizing this. It was great to see parents in the building!

Next Thursday, October 27th, we will have a Spirit Wear T-Shirt Sale. This is a great time to buy a Holy Cross School shirt to wear for spirit wear days. The cost is $10 per T-Shirt and the sale will be from 7:45 am-8:15 am and then again from 2:45 pm- 3:15 pm.

Next week, we will also have our Pumpkin Patch here at Holy Cross! Next Friday, October 28th, all PreK-4th grade students will have a chance to visit the "pumpkin patch" on the hill near Vassar Ave and choose one small pumpkin to take home. Our 5th-8th grade students will participate in a pumpkin decorating contest. Winners and prizes will be announced on Monday, October 31st. Please consider sending a monetary donation to help cover the cost of the pumpkins.

Queridas familias,

¡Octubre está demostrando ser un mes lleno de actividad! Mañana es nuestra misa anual para toda la escuela oficiada por el obispo Kevin C. Rhoades en el pabellón de Notre Dame. Todos los estudiantes de 3º a 8º asistirán. 
 
¡La semana pasada nuestra clase de inmersión de 4º grado participó en el Concurso de Ortografía en español de las Escuelas Católicas de la Nación y obtuvo el 3er lugar! ¡Disfrute este breve video! ¡Felicidades 4º grado!

El lunes, algunos padres vinieron a ayudar a hacer diademas para que nuestros estudiantes las usarán durante nuestro concierto del Día de los Muertos el domingo 30 de octubre. Gracias, padres, por toda su ayuda y gracias a la Sra. Roach por organizar esta actividad. ¡Fue un gran placer ver familias en el edificio!

El próximo jueves 27 de octubre tendremos una venta de camisetas Spirit Wear, camisetas con el logotipo de la escuela. Estas camisetas se pueden usar en los días de espíritu de la escuela. Las camisetas cuestan $10 cada una y la venta será de 7:45 am a 8:15 am y luego nuevamente de 2:45 pm a 3:15 pm.

¡La próxima semana, también tendremos nuestro Pumpkin Patch (huerto de calabazas) aquí en Holy Cross! El próximo viernes 28 de octubre, todos los estudiantes de Pre Kínder a 4º grado tendrán la oportunidad de visitar el Pumpkin Patch afuera de la escuela y elegir una calabaza pequeña para llevar a casa. Nuestros estudiantes de 5º a 8º grado participarán en un concurso de decoración de calabazas. Los ganadores y los premios se anunciarán el lunes 31 de octubre. Considere enviar una donación monetaria para ayudar a cubrir el costo de las calabazas.
