ABT Synod - Prayer Request - Pastor Kathy Calkins

Together as a Synod, we are called to support and pray for one another.
I invite your prayers for Pastor Kathy (Good Shepherd, Lethbridge) and Darcy Calkins, and their family, as Kathy undergoes surgery on Thursday, October 21, in Calgary.
Perhaps the following might guide our prayers:
O God, strengthen your servants Kathy and Darcy, and lead them through the journey ahead; that, accepting your healing gifts at the hands of surgeons, physicians, nurses, and medical workers, Kathy may be restored to wholeness, and that Kathy and Darcy may praise you with thankful hearts through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Almighty God, our heavenly Father, graciously protect Kathy in her surgery. Fill her heart with confidence that, though she may be anxious, she may put her trust in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (EvLW: Occasional Services for the Assembly, p. 286)
Holy and compassionate God, you send to us in our need those who care for us and look out for our lives. Bless them in their love for us. Bless those who work for our health. Bless the hands of surgeons and specialists. Bless the minds of those who search for our healing. Bless the feet of those who come to us in our need. Bless the eyes of those who look after us. Bless the hearts of all who serve; fill them with compassion and patience; and work through all of them for the betterment and well-being of all your children, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
