Center for Engineering in Cancer Takes Off!
This year IEM appointed Nicole Steinmetz, a professor of Nanoengineering, and Ezra Cohen, a professor of Medicine, as co-directors for the Center for Engineering in Cancer. Steinmetz was recently awarded 2 R01s totaling $4.3M to advance their research of plant virus nanotechnology for breast cancer and melanoma therapy.

AIM Research Grant Opportunity
AIM is designed to accelerate the translation of UC San Diego technologies to market and support the formation and growth of startups in the UC San Diego ecosystem. The Office of Innovation and Commercialization is working with Premier Innovation Partners EMD-Serono, Merck KGaA Darmstadt, and Takeda to provide mentoring, resources, funding, and access to partners and investors to advance ideas from UC San Diego labs through feasibility projects and validation prototypes, and ultimately to scale.
