You can't pour from an empty cup - use yoga to fill up your soul!

Have you noticed that if you judge yoga by a lot of what is shown online these days, that it is something only for the young, strong, flexible and beautiful?

Honestly, I think that if that was the vision of yoga I had been fed 27 years ago, I probably would have thought ‘that’s not for me’! I was so lucky to have never seen a yoga photo before diving into this lifelong practice. I wasn’t sporty, a gymnast or dancer - just someone who had a hunch that yoga would be good for me. 

The reason I loved yoga from the very first class was because there were no mirrors, no trainer yelling at me to try harder, loud music and no competition. It simply made me feel great! I felt that my head got reconnected to the body and my mind got cleared. 

To all those would be yogis out there who feel they are not flexible enough or look at the crazy images and think ‘that’s not for them’- no need to be anything - yoga is a tool to realize your authentic self! 

Taking time to practice yoga asana with ujjayi breathing is an opportunity to heal the body, mind, emotions and soul 💗

Practicing with mindfulness, learning to listen to the body while throwing in enough poses that makes it fun is great to keep a lifelong practice! At 54, I can confirm yoga helps you age gracefully 😊
