October 2022
I thank the Lord for baptism and what it represents for his Church. Baptism services are always the most memorable and sweet services we have on the mission field. This service was extra sweet because I had the privilege of baptizing my daughter, Jolynn along with 4 other new believers: Babita, Nitu, Anuska, and Ajit. Please be in prayer for them as they continue on to walk in newness of life.
For this service, we went to a forest park about 30 minutes outside of Kathmandu. We had a picnic that ended up being under a shelter while it poured rain for over an hour. After the meal, we enjoyed an impromptu church service while we waited for the rain to clear. As soon as the clouds cleared we found a spot in the creek that was deep enough for baptisms and rejoiced alongside our brother and sisters in Christ as they followed Him in believer’s baptism.
As well as celebrating the new life of five believers, I also had to mourn the end of life for my grandfather. I left my family in Nepal and returned to the States for one week for the funeral. I thank the Lord for providing in every way for me to be able to be present with my family, and I am so thankful that He took care of my wife and children while I was away.
I shared last month that this month is a slow month in Nepal due to many Hindu holidays. Because of this, we have had opportunity to hold special services. I was able to preach at a revival meeting at another church here in Kathmandu. We will also host this church along with Beginnings Baptist Church for a men’s prayer meeting at Camp Refuge at the end of the month. Please pray that God will use these special events and services to strengthen the believers and encourage them in their faith!
