The intensity is back... hold on:

The astrologers have been saying this for a some time now: all this challenge and pain is for a reason, our collective consciousness is raising, we are increasing our shine. The New Moon is the lunar new beginning and with this one as an eclipse, it's a dark time (the sun is being eclipsed/the light is being covered) so it's best to lay low and really cultivate your inner light.

According to Vedic (India’s) astrology:
Eclipses are a great time to stay in, meditate, and do your inner work. In fact, they provide an especially rich opportunity to connect with spirit because the ‘veils’ are thin.

Eclipses are a bit intense, and can feel very unnerving. Join me in learning how to navigate these times and how to live your best life as the change/chaos intensifies yet again.

Thankfully we have the practice of yoga to offer community and support in so many different ways. I'm here for you, personally, in several group formats, and via recordings. We are stronger together. ❤️

New Moon Yoga Nidra & Restorative Workshop

in-studio, & virtual
this Sunday, October 23rd: 3:00 - 5:00 pm

Beginning with the 30-minute Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep, aka adult nap time) we will slow down, relax, and rejuvenate. Suitable for nearly all levels of students restorative yoga is a great compliment to the dynamic and muscular (yang) yoga practice. With these 2 rejuvenating practices, it's not about changing and pushing ourselves. These practices allow for both a stillness in the body and the mind.

Harness the power and importance of the darkest night of the month learning the astrological importance of this New Moon in this fall season. We will balance the nervous system and reduce stress for a night of deep release, relaxation, harmony, and healing.

Do you wear polyester athletic clothing?

This week an investigative report came out showing data that sports bras and athletic shirts made by some of the major global sports brands were found to contain dangerous levels of the estrogen-mimicking chemical bisphenol A, commonly known as BPA, posing a considerable risk to people’s health, according to legal notices sent by the Center for Environmental Health (CEH).

BPA—an endocrine disrupting chemical that upsets the body’s functioning through blocking or mimicking hormones— results in heart problems, obesity, diabetes, ADHD, and other ailments.

Testing conducted on branded clothing showed that individual wearers were exposed to 22 times the safe limit.

“Studies have shown that BPA can be absorbed through skin and end up in the bloodstream after handling receipt paper for seconds or a few minutes at a time. Sports bras and athletic shirts are worn for hours at a time, and you are meant to sweat in them, so it is concerning to be finding such high levels of BPA in our clothing,” said Kaya Allan Sugerman, director of the Illegal Toxic Threats Program at CEH.

This led me to research the best clothing to wear and I found an incredibly beautiful line of clothing for both men and women. Made out of natural fibers by a collective of designers: Sage Moon. Let me know what you think!

New public Wednesday class!

Slow Vinyasa at 5:15 pm at Balance Yoga Center.

A level 1-2, Slow Vinyasa class: a creative sequence of physical postures, linked to the rhythm of the breath, slowed down for a little more time to focus on alignment and being present. You can expect to stretch and strengthen your body in this class designed to accommodate all levels.

Bringing the tantric play of opposites into the class, you can find the harmony of activity and calm, beginning to embody fluidity in movement and stillness, leaving practice more open and connected in body, mind, and spirit.
