Congratulations, Gary!
It's still impossible for most of us to comprehend, but over the weekend, Gary completed his 100-mile race with a final time of
29 hours and 15 minutes!
In his final blog post, Gary writes:
"Many runners have pacers and crews to help them get to the finish line. This run I ran solo but you, the New England JFON crew paced me from a distance - and we got it done! Knowing that so many joined the effort through prayers, good wishes and donations gave me the extra inspiration that is always required when one's tired legs and mind want to send you home without finishing. Thanks to all who made this an extra special finish."
Like the immigrants New England JFON serves, Gary underwent a grueling experience, going without sleep and experiencing physical discomfort. Unlike our clients, Gary chose this path, and he was then able to return home to warmth, sustenance, and security.
If you would like to help our clients find security in honor of Gary's achievement, you can still do so here.
New England JFON is grateful for all of you who have supported this effort financially and with your words and thoughts of support.
