Hello!

October gives us Indigenous Peoples Day, Sweetest Day and Halloween, but it’s also filled with dozens of other “holidays” that remind us to celebrate life on a daily basis.

Today’s holidays include:
  • National New Friends Day
  • Evaluate Your Life Day
  • National Unity Day, signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month
  • National Mammography Day
  • International Gin and Tonic Day
  • Love Your Body Day
  • National Seafood Bisque Day

Today is also Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day, which aims to spread awareness about local businesses and recognize local chambers of commerce for supporting the growth of entrepreneurs and local businesses.

The MPBHBA is honored to work on behalf of the local business community and is committed to its mission of creating a stronger neighborhood through business support, marketing, advocacy, education and promotion. Thank you for allowing us to serve you!

Western Ave., a Holiday Shopping Day Just for You!

The MPBHBA is in search of businesses along Western to be a part of a fun-filled, holiday-themed day on Sat., Dec. 3, from noon to 5 p.m.

Shoppers and imbibers alike can venture down the avenue that day to find gifts and get into the holiday spirit, sipping and snacking along the way. The MPBHBA is  providing transportation with several stops along Western, so that participants can catch a ride if they would like.

We’d like to include retail businesses as well as bars and restaurants. Ideally this will be a busy day for retail businesses during the already busy holiday season. We encourage bars and restaurants to craft a special holiday drink or hors d’oeuvre.

Businesses that plan something special, like carolers or kids’ crafts, will likely generate even more interest.

Also on December 3 is the Uprising Holiday Market, presented by the Beverly Area Arts Alliance and hosted at the Beverly Arts Center, which will draw even more traffic.  It should be a fruitful day for Western Avenue businesses!

In addition to providing bus service along Western for this holiday event, the MPBHBA will:
  • publish an online a map of participating businesses.
  • create a shopping “passport” incentivizing participants to visit multiple shops/restaurants.
  • purchase ad space in the Beverly Review and 19th Ward Quarterly.
  • promote the event on social media.
  • create a digital lookbook highlighting the gift offerings at local businesses.
We hope you will be a part of this event! To register and be included in upcoming promotions,  fill out the form below or email nora@mpbhba.org.
