Greetings Friends,
On this "Reformation Day," I encourage you to remember some of the foundational principles of the Reformation, the first of which was the spirit of reform which enlivened it. Though the Roman Church pushed back on the ideas and cut off the people, the organizing principle of the Reformation was akin to the words of the Lord in Isaiah 58, "Is not this the fast that I choose?" The ideas of the Reformation were meant to be a corrective to a church which was still celebrating the fast, so to speak, but not in the way that God wanted.
Our own tradition, know as the Reformed Tradition, carries the motto 'ecclesia reformata, semper reformanda' which means, 'the church reformed, always being reformed.' We want to remain vigilant to the movement of the Holy Spirit in the church to call us to correction and to change us as God wills. This is one of the ways that we continually focus ourselves upon the free gift of God's grace which we receive through faith and respond to with good works.
Peace,
Pastor Noah

The weekly Bible Study led by Pastor Noah is at both churches. The Bible Study at Dayton will be on Tuesdays at 10am and at Polson will be on Wednesdays at 10am.
The current round of study is focused on equipping you for your own personal study of Scripture. We are looking at inductive Bible study, Lectio Divina, Thematic approaches to study, and study focused on a character or word. After learning the techniques, we will practice our skills on a few passages of Scripture. Bring your Bible and come along!
