WHY WHITMAN HAS A SEGREGATION PROBLEM

Kainat Ansari
Opinion Writer

Diversity and globalization of a campus is one of the biggest advertisement factors for U.S. colleges and universities. MY FAVORITE SINGER IS PROBLEMATIC, AND I DON'T CARE

Natalie Comerford
Opinion Writer

It seems impossible to keep up with celebrity drama. Take, for example, Rex Orange County’s recent sexual assault accusations, Taylor Swift’s enormous carbon footprint or Kayne West’s anti-semitic tweets. And yet, their art continues to speak to us on a cultural and personal level. In light of Taylor Swift's latest album — and latest scandal — Swifties everywhere are facing a dilemma. Alexa Gechishkin
Campus Life Reporter

On Oct. 11, the Whitman community celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with an evening brightened by lively music, dancing and delicious food. The event was a true community effort, as students from different organizations shared resources, ideas and responsibilities to make the night a success. With Whitman often feeling isolated from the city of Walla Walla at large, the initiative taken by students to connect the event to other celebrations of Hispanic Heritage Month across the city signaled the value of community inclusion.

"THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE" TEASER PROVES THAT CHRIS PRATT IS.

Samantha Fitts
Honorary Italian (New Yorker)

Welp, it’s finally here — we have now witnessed Chris Pratt’s rendition of Nintendo’s Mario. As expected, it’s terrible. The animation looks great, despite the fact that they stole Mario’s thicc ass from us, but the man’s voice is untenable. There are obviously major problems with this casting, but worst of all: Chris Pratt is straight, and Mario is Italian.
