Thank you for investing your time to attend the August meetup!
It was interesting to learn how Josh & Rachel Watson have had success focusing on a niche military market in the medium-term rental space!

What inspired you to become interested in real estate investing?
I have always been a learner and I was looking for a way to grow our wealth through tax efficient income. The tax benefits of owning RE are amazing so learn all the different tax strategies that pertain to real estate.
Tell us about one of your favorite real estate transaction.
After submitting 14 contracts that all were rejected, I finally landed one. The day after I was awarded the winning contract, I attend a RE meetup group where we had talk about wins for the month. When I claimed my win there were other investors in attendance that had also bid on the same properties. I felt validated.
Post Covid I have begun to upfit the units and upon completion next year rents will have increased 100% and the property values have increased 70%.
Do you have any real estate mantras, rules, or words of wisdom you try to follow in your investing?
Know your buy box, stay focused and be patient.
Please share a favorite business or real estate-related resource.
The book - The One Thing by Gary Keller.
What do you like to do during your "off" time?
Traveling and meeting new people. Learning, gardening and cooking.
What else would you like your fellow meetup members to know about you?
My husband recently retired, and we are now empty nesters starting our second chapter.
What is the best way for someone to get in contact with you?

The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter Definitely not a real estate or finance book but a lifestyle mindset book! I thoroughly enjoyed the exploration of discomfort and our evolutionary need to be challenged. Great motivator for breaking out of your comfort zone and "doing hard things." I really liked this book and wanted to share even though it is off-topic in case it also piques your interest! 5 out of 5 cheers!

Pitch Anything by Oren Klaff Full disclosure, this is an older book and I dislike the title! BUT it really was an interesting read as it talks about the different frames each person brings to a conversation. The book explores how the brain engages and how to control the narrative to effectively get your audience interested. I bought the book after listening to the recent BiggerPockets episode where the author was interviewed. While BREW will remain a "no-pitch" meetup :) I did pick up some great tips. 4 out of 5 cheers!
