Fall 2022
A Brighter Way helps formerly incarcerated individuals living in Washtenaw County build a stable, successful fulfilling life.

The Inaugural Resource Fair for Returned Citizens held October 4 at Washtenaw Community College was attended by over 30 agencies, employers and vendors.  We can't thank the community enough for supporting their fellow citizens.

Every Wednesday we have a Facebook Live conversation with Adam and Laquan titled "Q and A about A Brighter Way" " listen in for conversations about life as a returned citizen.

Fed Up Ministries is providing lunch in the Ypsilanti Bus Station Parking lot every Wednesday at 1:30p.m. Stop and get some free lunch and visit with ABW staff.

Our Podcast "Conversations About a Brighter Way" Season 1 is titled "Welcome Home!" has launched! Look for it wherever you listen to Podcasts. https://open.spotify.com/show/5aZhgnxTIMSqQvOgQfaKfB

I am busy building A Brighter Way for and with all of us. So grateful to have a team and community that I can count on day in and day out. Thank you to each and everyone of our staff, mentees, and volunteers as well as our funders. You are AMAZING!!  2022 has been about growth and we are planning for sustainability in 2023.
We welcome Rick Ward to A Brighter Way. Rick is our Skills Coordinator who is developing and implementing our newly funded 21 Century Elder Program. This program has been funded primarily through grants from the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.  For his first big project Rick is focused on technology training and thanks to our grants we are providing and training our senior mentees to use their own tablets.

ABW has been engaging in numerous events throughout our community. This past weekend Q participated in "Gas on God" pumping $25,000 of free gas at 5 gas stations in Detroit.
Our mentee Ryan had some beautiful emotional art at the RE:CLAIM Project at the Washtenaw County Courthouse. The art will remain on display if anyone wants to stop by the courthouse and see Ryan's art as well as that of other justice impacted persons.
Arthur never ceases to amaze us! He even dresses up like a Panda Bear for his job at Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
