Volunteer Drivers for BackPack Beginnings Needed!

BackPack Beginnings is looking for a few additional volunteer drivers to assist two existing Saint Pius groups with delivering bags of food to Cone Elementary and Irving Park Elementary. Deliveries typically occur on Thursdays during the school day throughout the school year. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for as many driving slots as they would like, but most drivers typically deliver approximately once per month. The driving commitment consists of picking up bags of food from the BPB warehouse (near Wendover/Norwalk intersection) and dropping the bags off with a staff member at either Cone Elementary or Irving Park Elementary.

BackPack Beginnings helps to feed, clothe and comfort children in need, serving over 21,000 children annually. The bags of food that you will be delivering will go home directly with the children to ensure that they will have kid-friendly and nutritious food and pantry staples to fill the weekend food gap. For more information about BackPack Beginnings, please visit BackPackBeginnings.org. For more information or to sign up for this volunteer opportunity, please contact Laura Duggins at 770-853-4598 or

Media Center/STEM Lab Amazon Wish List
Thank You!!! Thank You!!! To all the families who helped fulfill our book and equipment "wishes" last weekend, I am truly humbled and grateful. The kids are already so happy with the new pencil sharpener and the new books. The timer is also a big hit! Our school is so blessed by the generosity of our school families. Thank You!

I will add to the list as needed throughout the year. If you are inclined to gift the library or STEM lab with something, please know it is truly needed and will be used by many grades, if not every grade.

Help protect all of God’s children
Everyone has a role to play in protecting children. North Carolina law requires all adults to immediately report suspected child abuse by anyone to law enforcement agencies. If you know or suspect that a minor (person under 18) has been abused, please call 9-1-1 or contact local law enforcement.
Also, if you have information about possible sexual abuse or misconduct by any clergy, employee or volunteer of the Diocese of Charlotte, report concerns securely and anonymously 24/7 over the phone or online: 1-888-630-5929 or
