Annual Fab City Summit 2022

Eight new members joined the Fab City Network!
The Fab City Network grows stronger each year, with the inclusion of new cities, regions and countries pledging their local commitment to address planetary challenges.
This important step for new participating members takes place during the annual Fab City Summit, which this year was held during Bali Fab Fest.

The Network currently counts 49 members!

And the eight new members are... 🥁

Südburgenland Austria, Guanajuato Mexico, Papua Indonesia, Ljubljana Slovenia, Parepare Indonesia, Pemkab Bangka Tengah Indonesia, Sumedang Indonesia and Bali, Indonesia.

Bali, in addition to being a new member of the network, is also the first island to be declared a "Fab Island" by its  Provincial Government, the Fab City Foundation and Meaningful Design Group.

✨🏝️ Bali Fab Island 🏝️✨

Bali will be the center of knowledge exchange and the door that will encourage the development of the world's digital fabrication technology to the country, and drive the future of Indonesia's economy and tourism.

🌐 A Local Effort to Meet Planetary Challenges 🌐

Welcoming new members is always an exciting time for all those who are part of the global initiative, because this enriches the entire network with new resources and tools that are useful in achieving the ultimate goal: to locally produce energy, food and materials in order to reduce their environmental and social impact on the planet, and globally share best practices through open networks.
We work side-by-side with Network members to develop local strategies to implement the Fab City Strategic Action Plan. The Network shares working practices and knowledge as well as a deep alignment of purpose and culture.

The members are cities, regions or countries that have taken up the challenge to move towards producing (almost) everything they consume by 2054 by pledging at the Fab City Summit annual event.
