October Noisy Offering

The Blind Spot Resumes!
Thursday, November 10
7:00pm via Zoom
The Blind Spot is getting back together and YOU are invited to join our conversation! The Blind Spot is about leaning into what we don't know or understand so that we can know better and do better.

In November we will discuss Tricia Hersey's book Rest is Resistance: A Manifesto, a countercultural call to reclaim our humanity by rejecting the grind culture, stepping out of the hamster wheel and resting more. (You can also read an article by her, listen to a podcast interview, or just join us to learn because you are curious!)

SUNDAY SCHOOL for PRE-K AND OLDER
Children are invited to go downstairs after Discovery Time for music with Julia and then class with teachers Shane Austerman and Emily Walsh.
This year both in Worship and Sunday School, we are using the Narrative Lectionary, which follows the story of the Bible from the Old Testament through New Testament, from Genesis to Pentecost.

COOPERATIVE YOUTH GROUP - ROOTED
Youth in Grades 6-12 are invited to join us on Wednesdays for a cooperative youth group with Seeds of Faith Lutheran and the United Methodist Church. Friends are welcome! Email Jonathan education@firstpresmv.com for more information.

VISITS TO AL AHRENS
Our friend, Al, really enjoys having visitors. The ALS has severely restricted his ability to talk so it is helpful to have Becky there, too. If you would like to go, let Becky know (cell 319-551-2756). He has a private room at Anamosa Care Center, and facemasks are no longer required.
