Band Concert

There was a mistake in last week’s letter. The fall band concert is on Wednesday, November 9th. Apologies for the miscommunication.

Blue Ribbon

We are excited to communicate that based on our iReady testing data, we are Blue Ribbon eligible. Schools can only become Blue Ribbon eligible if their test data shows at or above the 85th percentile, school-wide in both math and reading. AACA’s data shows us well above that benchmark. Unfortunately, because we received the Blue Ribbon in 2019, and you can only be awarded every five years, we cannot apply, but we are extremely proud of all of our students and staff for working so hard. We look forward to exceeding this benchmark every year and applying again after our five-year mark.

Bluepoint Alert System

Our Blue Point Alert Safety System has now been fully installed, staff has been trained, and students in grades 3-8 have been made aware that the system is in the building in an age appropriate way.  The system went fully live at noon today.  If you have any questions regarding this system, please contact gmcallister@alphonsusacademy.org. 

Halloween

Halloween is quickly approaching and the parade is coming back!  The parade will be held on Monday, October 31st starting at 8:05 am.  Families are able to attend the parade outside, which starts on Greenview and wraps around to the west exit of the parking lot.  We ask that families be lined up against the curb in order for our students to safely walk the route.  If it rains, no parade will occur.  If you have any questions, please contact Angela Kladis at akladis@alphonsusacademy.org.

Teachers will be or may have already been in contact regarding classroom Halloween celebrations. Parties will take place on Monday. October 31st.

Volunteers Needed

Need volunteer hours…AACA will have a tent again this year during the Trick or Treat on Southport Event on Monday, October 24th.  We need volunteers to help kids make bracelets and hand out treats.  If you are available please contact Mayte Gutzmer at maytemlg@yahoo.com
