Opportunity for Community Feedback: Centering Clients in Homeless Data Collection Webinar – November 2, 2022 – 2:00 PM EDT

One of the most important things one owns, regardless of whatever else happens, is one's identity. Efforts to end homelessness ultimately begin and end with the people experiencing homelessness. The Opportunity for Community Feedback: Centering Clients in Homeless Data Collection announcement provides several resources for communities interested in engaging in meaningful conversations with people experiencing homelessness about the proposed changes to race, ethnicity, and gender data elements for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 HMIS Data Standards updates.

An informational webinar will also be held on November 2, 2022, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM EDT to support communities interested in learning more about this process.

Training Objectives

This webinar will:

  • Provide framing and background from HUD leadership and work groups about why updates to race, ethnicity, and gender data elements were undertaken
  • Share examples from people with lived experience and expertise of homelessness about how to implement the updated data elements
  • Offer next steps for communities interested in providing feedback to HUD about the updated data elements

Who Should Attend?

This webinar is intended for Continuum of Care (CoC) and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) recipients, persons with lived experience and expertise of homelessness, and other partners in the homeless response system who are interested in learning more about how to collect and submit feedback about the proposed changes to race, ethnicity, and gender data elements.
