Passing the Mic to the Global South
Scholars and book editors Andrea Rizzotti and Héctor Cruz-Feliciano are leading the field of education abroad to establish connections between epistemological perspectives of the Global South, decolonial theories, and their critical intercultural framework. They believe that only through thoughtful “review [of] our professional practices and the paradigms for the development of programs [can] advance a decolonial international education model” to make our field more just, equitable, and intentional. They advance this conversation and share practical approaches of their own and from colleagues representing Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East in their forthcoming book, Voices from the South: Decolonial Perspectives in International Education.
