ADVISORY: UT-Texas Politics Project Poll release Friday morning (10/21)
Hi All,
The Texas Politics Project will release the results from the latest University of Texas / Texas Politics Project statewide poll at the Texas Politics Project website Friday morning (October 21) at approximately 6:30 a.m CT. An overview of the poll will be available in the blog section of the site, as well as complete documentation for the 15-minute poll conducted from October 7-17.
Subjects in the poll include:
- An extensive check-in on the Texas gubernatorial race as well as select major statewide races.
- Favorability ratings of candidates for statewide office.
- Texans’ views of major issues including gun safety, abortion, the economy, elections and voting, and more.
- Job approval numbers for major political figures, including specific policy area approvals for President Biden and Governor Abbott.
- Our usual trend items on the economy and general mood of the state.
The release will include all items included in the poll, though initial focus will be on the upcoming election. As always, we will make available a summary document, extensive crosstab file, and data files, as well as hundreds of free, downloadable graphics of overall and major subgroup results for most questions, all of which can be found at the Texas Politics Project website. Another email with an overview of the results and specific links will go out via the distribution list for our usual mailings at the time the results and accompanying files are published Friday morning.
As prep, you might want to read Josh Blank's excellent recent post on the ins and outs of likely voter screens in election polling. It's a good warm-up for tomorrow's release.
