DO YOU FEEL CALLED TO DEEPER SERVICE?

Central Office of Louisiana, the Intergroup that represents OA recovery group meetings across South Louisiana, needs YOU. Nominations for the following positions are being accepted, with elections taking place at our November COLA meeting:

VICE CHAIR: Attends monthly COLA meetings, usually held at 9 am the 3rd Saturday of each month. Chairs the meeting in absence of the Chair. Receives announcements and changes from our OA groups. Prepares and present a committee report at the meeting.  Also must have read the minutes and be prepared to discuss and vote on issues being considered by the Intergroup. Oversees communications with Web Designer, transmitting all updates and changes to Mary Higgins weekly before Friday, as she makes the updates and changes on Fridays.  Sends announcements, flyers, and approved minutes to Web Designer. Works with Secretary to create and submit content for regular email newsletters to the Web Designer. Monitors website (www.oaneworleans.org) to ensure information is correct and up-to-date.Sends meeting updates and changes to World Service Organization (www.oa.org).

SECRETARY: Keeps minutes at all Intergroup meetings and shares a copy of the Intergroup minutes electronically to each group secretary, prior to the next month's Intergroup meeting. Sends reminders of each Intergroup meeting, and collaborates with other officers and subcommittee members to send reports for the meeting. Maintains an electronic file of all minutes of past meetings. Supports content creation for Intergroup digital communications with Vice Chair and Web Designer. Perform all other duties as agreed by COLA and/ or prescribed in the Intergroup policy.

Qualifications to serve as an Officer for the Intergroup Board include: 

• Commitment of adherence to working the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions of OA, 
• Regular attendance in an active group, and 
• Commitment to OA’s primary purpose of abstinence and service.
