Quality Matters Informational Sessions, Today & Tomorrow

October 19, 4-5pm on Zoom: https://iu.zoom.us/j/92194551377
October 20, 12-1pm in NS 245

Quality Matters is a nationally recognized, faculty-centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses with the goal of promoting student learning. Quality Matters tools can help you through every stage of the course planning, design, delivery, and evaluation process so that you can spend more time discussing content with your students, rather than fielding questions about administrative tasks or the course structure. Join this session, led by Anna Michelle Martinez-Montavon to learn more about the funded opportunities at IUSB to learn more about online and hybrid course design, get recognition for your high-quality course design, and support your peers in improving their courses. (Part-Time faculty earn 1 FDU of Learn & Earn).

UCET Dossier Prep Groups

If you will be submitting a dossier for promotion to Senior Lecturer, Teaching Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor, Clinical Senior Lecturer, or Clinical Associate Professor in August 2023, you are invited to join a sponsored group that can help you put together a dossier that presents your case in the best light possible. If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact David Blouin, UCET Career Mentor, dblouin@iusb.edu.
This fall, we will meet in NS 245 at the following times:

1)      Friday, October 28, 3:00-4:00 Promotion to Teaching Professor, Full Professor

2)      Friday, November 11, 3:00-4:00 All promotion cases

Are you spending too much time editing video? Are you frustrated with importing media into your videos? Is audio editing driving you mad? This workshop will ensure participants leave with a working knowledge of how to import, export and edit their videos for their classes.
Attendees will be expected to have access to a computer with Adobe Rush installed. See this link to the KnowledgeBase for more information.
Attendees will have access to video and audio assets so that everyone can work on the same project at the same time.
Both sessions of this workshop will be fully hybrid and have both a face-to-face option as well as an online option.

Save the Date! The 2023 Midwest SoTL Conference

Mark your calendars this conference will be on March 31 from 9-4pm, on the campus of IU South Bend.

PlayPosit Workshop

Wednesday, November 30, 12-1pm, NS 245 & on
Zoom (https://iu.zoom.us/j/92194551377), Amy Pawlosky

How would you like to punch up ANY video on Kaltura or YouTube with engaging interactions referencing your content? Provide on-the-spot robust questioning, asynchronous student discussions or student note taking that you, the instructor, can review. PlayPosit is your solution. It provides ways for instructors to overlay questions and other interactions at any point on the video timeline. You can gauge student engagement and retention and see if they are really watching the video. Come to the next PlayPosit workshop to see a demonstration and try your hand at creating a PlayPosit interaction video. Bring a laptop if you want to create one during the workshop. Please register at UCET@iusb.edu.
