Dear Dr. <<Last Name>>:

We have an important opportunity for your involvement as the next Junior FIT Representative to the College’s Board of Regents. I would like to personally invite you to consider this role and submit your application by this Friday, Oct. 14. I have had the privilege of serving as the Junior FIT Representative since last November and to say it’s been a rewarding experience would be an understatement. It has given the opportunity to work with many outstanding leaders within our specialty over the past year, and gain even more enthusiasm about the future of our specialty and our organization! It truly is a one-of-a-kind opportunity and I strongly encourage you to apply. (Even if you’re not selected for this position, you’ll still be able to contribute as a member of the FIT Section’s Executive Committee.)

The FIT Sections’ Executive Committee – composed of national and regional representatives – plays an important part in raising awareness about the specific needs of FITs within the College. The Committee assists in providing tools and resources for FITs throughout their training, including broad prep materials and the FIT educational program at the College’s Annual Meeting. As a member of our Executive Committee, you’ll be able to hone in your knowledge and skills while helping other FITs do the same. Perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of serving in this role is being able to work with FITs from across the country while helping to raise awareness about the specialty among medical residents through the SPARK program. You can learn more about the national and regional representatives by viewing the position descriptions.

Ready to take the next step? Applying is easy. All we need is the nomination form endorsed by your Program Director, your CV and a brief personal statement. Just be sure to email these to Jean Foellmer by this Friday, Oct. 14 to be considered. The next Junior FIT Representative will be elected during the FIT Business Meeting, which will take place at the College’s Annual Meeting in Louisville, KY on Friday, Nov. 11.

Serving my peers while gaining valuable training and insight into our organization has been a great experience. If you are interested in a unique, meaningful opportunity to represent your fellow FITs while developing as a leader in a world class Allergy & Immunology organization, I highly recommend that you apply for the College's Junior FIT Representative position.
