Hi Beanstack friends,

Becky here! Tracy is on vacation this week so I am guest-hosting this Client Update. I hope the cooler temperatures are finding you and you’ve allowed yourself at least one pumpkin spice indulgence! 😊 There's plenty of good stuff in this week’s update: Winter Reading and Badge Books and Podcasts--oh my!

ICYMI: Here is the link to the last update.

Bilingual Summer Badge Books- Presale for Summer 2023 starts NOW!

We are very excited to announce that our bilingual summer badge books are officially available for presale! This edition of the Summer Badge Book is a bilingual reading log and calendar that is designed to act as a companion to your library’s Summer 2023 reading challenge theme. As families track their reading on the Beanstack web and mobile apps, kids (ages 5-10) earn badges matched to stickers in the book. The Summer Badge Book is bound in a durable, coated softcover, with a lay-flat binding that makes writing and drawing easy. The book includes reading logs, activities, and tons of stickers, and will last all summer long.

The bilingual books will sell for $2.99/book, and pre-orders can be placed online or by emailing badgebooks@zoobean.com. Books are expected to ship in spring of 2023.

The Reading Culture podcast’s featured librarian: Megan Wilson

ICYMI, we released episode two of The Reading Culture last week with author Karina Yan Glaser! As always, we feature a Beanstack librarian at the end of the episode. This week, it was Megan Wilson, high school librarian at International Leadership of Texas. Megan shared with us her absolute favorite book to recommend. She is also a Beanstack rockstar and her high school students crush their Beanstack reading challenges! One idea she shared is to put Easter eggs in books and if students find them, they can turn them in for a treat! Listen on Apple, Google, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Reminder: Only in New York, a Karina Yan Glaser Reading Challenge-- One last reminder that Karina curated a special reading list challenge, Only in New York, with middle grade fiction where New York City plays a starring role. All of the challenge materials, along with printable reading logs, can be found on the help desk here.

As always, many thanks to every single one of you for doing what you do and for being part of the Beanstack team!
