Hello Faith Family,
Good afternoon - I write you today from the Senior Adult Fall Leaf Tour!
Here is what I have observed:
A season of change is upon us again as the lush and vibrant green leaves give way to the gorgeous fall colors in the Willamette Valley. October has been such a conundrum, though - two seemingly opposing things being true at the same time. While the leaves are changing color, the temperature is STILL hitting 80 degrees…which, by the way, I love!
But what a picture of life, huh? Two seemingly opposing things being true at the same time.
Like a mom who is emotionally and mentally exhausted from her kids, yet overwhelming in love with them at the same time.
Or like the passing of a dear loved one where deep sorrow and joy flow freely mingled together.
Or like where sin abounds, grace abounds much more. Or like the Kingdom of Heaven being here on earth but not yet fully here. Or like you must give up your life to gain life. Or like a mustard seed moving a mountain. Or like the sinless Son of God becoming sin so that we might become the righteousness of God.
Life is often a series of conundrums - of mysteries - of seemingly opposing things being true at the same time.
Yet for those who have embraced the moment of the mystery - they have discovered the secret Presence of God.
Awaiting us all, in the mystery of life, is the beauty and strength of the uncontrollable Love of God!
So friend, be of good cheer. Whatever conundrum or mystery greets you today - know that the Love and Presence of God awaits to greet you as well…to sustain you…to strengthen you…and to see you through!
Enjoy the leaves and enjoy the temperature!
