BOM: Severe Weather Warning
Catchments are wet in northeast Victoria, Central, North Central, South and West Gippsland, moderately wet across East Gippsland, Northern Country and South West catchments, and dry in the North West.
Minor- moderate flooding is possible in some Gippsland catchments, the Mt Emu Creek and Barwon in the southwest.
Thursday: Moderate to heavy falls developing along the northern slopes of the Dividing Range.
- 60-100mm along the northern slopes of the Divide, broadly 20-50mm elsewhere.
- Locally damaging N’ly wind gusts peaking 100-110 km/h about elevated areas, most likely Alpine peaks.
Friday: Moderate to heavy rain clears far eastern Victoria before dawn. Scattered showers to follow, with isolated cold air thunderstorms during the afternoon.
- 10-25mm NE peaks otherwise 2-10mm southern and mountain districts.
- Snow level initially 1900 metres, lowering to 1300 metres during the morning then increasing to 1700 metres at night.
