Dear <<First Name>>,
We brought enough pizza for 40 students. It was the first Cru meeting of the year and David didn’t know how many to expect. David’s been reaching students at Estancia High School in California for a few years now and while COVID has taken its toll on the numbers, he has worked with smaller groups of students and developed a number of student leaders.
83 students showed up to David’s first
Cru meeting at Estancia HS.
As lunch started and students approached I (Mark) saw student leaders jumping in to help, returning students greet David with big hugs, and a lot of energy from everyone. In the end, 83 students showed up to get involved in Cru this year. Many will be coming to their small groups and David has a lot of new students to follow up.
Brandt & Dan’s first Student leader’s
meeting of the year. Great kids!
I was in town for a few days and was able to go with our team to 2 lunches, 1 evening meeting, 1 staff meeting, and a few one-on-one meals with staff. I experienced mature staff with so much passion for students to know Jesus and so much skill in navigating high schools and building relationships with students. I love what we do!
Jason was one of the 4 staff who
taught in our volunteer training videos.
My main reason, though, in visiting L.A. was to oversee the shooting of some new training videos for our volunteers. What we do on high school campuses is amazing, but we haven’t been great at simplifying our training for our volunteers. So we flew in a few staff to speak in the videos, hired a company, and shot our first 4 training videos. It was a great experience and our first step toward a new series of videos to help people everywhere more effectively reach students near them.
Thank you so much for investing your prayers and finances into our family and ministry. We love you and are so grateful for you.
Mark & Dawn
