Guidance
When I meditated on the word guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person relaxes and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word guidance. When I saw "G," I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i." God, "u" and "I" dance. God, you, and I dance. This statement is what guidance means to me.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

100 x 100 for Hamilton School
100 students and 100 years of operation, two milestones reached by the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist school in 2022 and celebrated this past weekend. Opened in 1920, but closed between1932-1933 made this the 100th year of Seventh-day Adventist Education serving the local church community. Over that time student numbers have fluctuated but usually reflect 60 students attending. This year they have grown to over 100.
Students past and present joined with teachers, principals and parents, some representing three generations who have and are associated with the school, to praise God for the milestones achieved as well as dedicate the newly renovated school.
Roger Marshall, property manager for Seventh-day Adventist Schools, reminded those present that the focus of what we do is always on supporting the learning and development of the children.
Dr Kevin Petrie, the Vice Chancellor of Avondale University and the longest serving Principal of the Hamilton School, shared the keynote address. Speaking of the conquering of Mount Everest and the breaking of the four minute mile he challenged those present that it is not until someone actually does it, ventures to do the seemingly impossible, that we see others soon follow and go even further.
Principal Shaun Hurlow praised God for the growth and development of the school. Recognising the support of so many in its early history, the Board of the School is looking forward to developing and expanding the programme of the school strengthening and empowering service of Seventh-day Adventist Education into the Waikato community and beyond.

Prayer Focus – Growth
Growth can be exciting, painful and challenging all at one time. Moving from where you are to a new and improved space is generally the goal of good growth. Along the way growth calls for change, adjustments to a course and upskilling or developing – all of which can unsettle us and seem difficult, yet with a good aim in sight.
Spring and Summer gardens show both the beauty of new growth and the pain of challenging weeds and remind us that growth is something that we need to tend to, to work on, if a blooming display is to be the end result.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
Lord we pray for personal growth and for strength on the journey. We pray too for corporate growth, as we see new people joining our churches. Please help us all to bloom abundantly in the spaces of your grace and the knowledge of what this means in our lives.
- Lynelle Laws - Prayer Coordinator

Ellen White and Contemporary Adventism
6 November | ONLINE
Seventh-day Adventists have a rich heritage of visionary pioneering people. Ellen White, one of the Church's founders, had a spiritual gift—being a special messenger for God. She wrote many books, letters and spiritual reflections that have been preserved for our benefit today. How do we make the best use of these writings now? The international and scholarly speakers at this symposium will answer this question from many angles that will enrich our understanding and application. The Incredible Journey presents:
It’s About Time
Time is the most valuable asset we have. We all get the same amount of time every week – 168 hours. Often, the difference between people who make their lives count and those who don’t is how they respect and manage their time. The highest achievers manage their time exceptionally well. With the right time-management skills, life becomes easier because good time management lets you work smarter – not harder.
