Hi U3A Casey members,
The committee is now planning our classes for 2023.
You will be pleased to note that nearly all current classes will be continuing on into next year. Only a couple of tutors have indicated they may not continue. This does not necessarily mean that the class won't continue - someone else may take on the role of tutor.
So, now is the time for everybody to consider/indicate any new class that they may be interested in offering. We will have extra venues available in 2023 and therefore time to schedule more classes. But of course, no class can run without a tutor (and preferably with a class assist). The role of the class assist is to support the tutor on a weekly basis, and take over the class when the tutor is unavailable for a week or two. Tutors do not pay a yearly subscription and a class assist person pays $25 instead of $45, for 2023.
Suggestions for new classes are always welcome. For Instance, as Rossmoyne has kitchen facilities available, a monthly cooking class could be run, with a different person demonstrating a particular dish each month (e.g. scones, jam, soup, pasta, sushi, biscuits, desserts, etc, etc).
So please have a think about any ideas you may like to share as a class tutor - you don't have to be a professional (most of us are not!) just have a hobby, particular skill or knowledge that you would like to pass on to others. The most important reason for U3A is to get together and have fun, allow members to meet on a regular basis and pursue activities together.
I need to have all classes confirmed and venues booked by the middle of November, as we have enrolment day on Wednesday, 7th December for 2023. and the database and Course Guides have to be completed well before Enrolment Day.
Now is the time to be proactive and get involved!
