Grace UMC Pastoral Staff:
Rev. Dr. Cathy Jamieson, Sr. Pastor
Rev. Daniel Eplee, Associate Pastor for Evangelism and Assimilation
Rev. Ashley Buchanan, Associate Pastor for Nurture and Mission
October 19, 2022
This is the time of year when all, well run, organizations look over their accomplishments, their expenses, cash flow and source of income. If we are to be good stewards of all God has provided, we need to apply this practice to our personal finances, the businesses we run, or are responsible for, and yes even churches must evaluate where they are, what they have, how God has blessed and what does the future look like.
As Christians we have the wonderful gift of making these evaluations in the light of faith in a God who never fails us.
Estimate of Giving Cards for 2023 were mailed out last week. If you did not receive a mailing you can access the card, on our website, or they are available in the church office. Please use this card as you consider your overall finances, your dreams and your blessings. Sunday, October 30th is Loyalty Sunday at Grace UMC North Augusta. We ask you to prayerfully consider your response, commit to what you can, as you are lead, and return your estimate of giving for 2023 on or by Loyalty Sunday.
Praying to the Lord of the Harvest,
Janet Waters, Chair, Stewardship Committee
Giving4Grace
There is a place for you, yes, you!
Here at Grace we have many opportunities and needs. Check out our Ministry Menu and consider ways in which you might get involved. There’s something for everyone. It takes all of us working together to care for one another, serve our community and model Jesus. This is the vow of service.
For a copy of the Ministry Menu click here!
May we remember our membership vow, “to support the church with my prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.”

We have a small, dedicated group of volunteers who remove the altar flowers from the sanctuary after the services on Sundays. The flowers are delivered to local nursing homes or to homebound members of Grace. We desperately need additional volunteers to help with this ministry. It would require delivery of the flowers no more than 6 times a year.
Please call Linda Smith at 803-474-0436, text, or email to (lidon0794@gmail.com) or call the church office at 803-279-7525 to get more information or to volunteer.

New Advent Studies
It may only be September, but Advent is right around the corner! If your Sunday School class or small group is looking for a way to focus on the beginning of this new year (yes, Advent is the start of a new liturgical year!), check out some of these new studies:
· The Angels of Christmas: Hearing God’s Voice in Advent by Susan Robb
In this study, the reader will explore the visits to Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds and dive deep into the history of the angel Gabriel—and other angels—in the Old Testament. The Angels of Christmas uses these four angelic appearances to discuss God’s presence in history and our lives today. The messages of the angels hold meaning for listeners both then and now.
· Prepare the Way for the Lord: Advent and the Message of John the Baptist by Adam Hamilton
For centuries, Christians have turned to the story and message of John the Baptist in the weeks leading up to Christmas. In Prepare the Way for the Lord: Advent and the Message of John the Baptist, best-selling author and pastor Adam Hamilton explores the Advent themes of John’s life and ministry, and how John calls all followers of Jesus to prepare our hearts for his coming.
